“I haven’t yet for reasons of your own,
But soon I’m sure you’ll tire from being alone.
You haven’t recovered from the pain of your past,
So you show me affection behind the wall of a glass.
But when I do finally kiss you,
You will realize at last my heart was true.”—Tupac Shakur - When I Do Kiss You (via sickened-cynic)
I am not myself and I haven’t been for quite some time. I have been so wrapped up and focused on school that my life is just this repetitive sequence of studying, taking notes, and writing essays. I haven’t drawn or written anything in months and I can’t even remember the last time I was able to freely read a book. School is eating away at my soul and turning me into this lifeless drone and I cannot help but wonder if all that money is worth losing myself in the process.
“If you’re a young man and have a lot of heart, that means you have a lot of courage. But then you learn the other meaning of heart, which is love. At first, love is a vacuum that takes courage from your heart. You’re scared around the woman you love. You’re not the same tough dude, the same thug. At first, love weakens you. But soon it makes you strong in ways you couldn’t imagine.”—RZA (via modern-hustle)
